STEAM ID Already in use
I've been trying to play DOD for 3 hours. Every time I try I get the error Steam ID already in use. It doesn't matter what server I try. Anybody know how to fix this problem?

If you manage to get in once and for some reason you dropped, the server sometimes still thinks you're still in the game. But this problem doesn't last three hours, usually refreshes in a couple of minutes. Your ID may have been hijacked or could be a steam error. Have you tried again today?

Yep someone hijacked my account. I did manage to change my password before they did though. So I have access to my account still. I did have to change my contact email back to my own. There are some things I still don't understand though. How could I log into steam if they were using my account?
Can two people be logged into steam with the same account and it only catches it at the steam id level? Or could the same steam ID somehow be applied to two different accounts?

You can't log into steam more then once, from my experience. However there is nothing telling you that you are already logged in. I steal my steam session from my desktop to my lap top all the time.
However perhaps whoever stole the account was already playing DoD... not sure when you logged in if it would kick the other person out. You should have received a message saying you were logged out cause the account was used elsewhere. I can't believe whoever jacked your account they didn't change the contact info so you couldn't reset your password. nubs... |
